In March 2025, Brazil ramped up its regulatory enforcement in the iGaming sector by targeting over 53 YouTube accounts and 25 channels promoting online betting with false promises of easy profits. These accounts, many with massive followings, were flagged by the National Secretariat for Sports Betting and Economic Development of Sports (Snaede) for breaching newly established advertising guidelines.
This move highlights Brazil’s growing commitment to not only regulate operators but also curb irresponsible promotion—especially amid increasing concerns around gambling addiction and social vulnerability.
